NIGERIA IS SAFER NOW THAN 10 YEARS AGO - COMEDIAN SEYI LAW

Nigerian comedian, Seyi Law, has sparked fresh debate after declaring that Nigeria is safer today than it was a decade ago. Speaking on The Honest Bunch Podcast, the comic openly affirmed his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, insisting that the current administration has made significant security gains.

When asked by co-host Daddy Freeze if the country is safer now than 10 years ago, Seyi Law responded emphatically, “Nigeria is safer now than 10 years ago.” He argued that the Tinubu-led government has neutralised more bandits than previous administrations since the era of former President Goodluck Jonathan.

Seyi Law questioned critics, asking when last Nigerians heard of widespread bomb blasts, suggesting that the scale of terror seen during the peak of the Boko Haram insurgency has reduced. However, activist Zekeri, who appeared alongside him, strongly disagreed.

He maintained that Nigeria is more unsafe than ever, citing recent att@cks in the Northeast, rising k+dnappings, and the k+llings of senior military officers. According to him, citizens are increasingly forced to rely on themselves in the face of insecurity.

The conversation also veered into politics, with Zekeri backing Peter Obi as a better leader, claiming his finances are traceable “down to every kobo.” Seyi Law pushed back, insisting that Nigeria’s economy is improving under Tinubu and that reforms, though painful, are necessary.

The heated exchange has since fueled conversations online, with Nigerians divided over claims about security and economic realities under the current administration.
