"I'M FOREVER INDEBTED TO YOU" - TAMBARI STEVE PRAISES TEEH CELESTINE AKPOBARI'S IMPACT IN OGONILAND

Nigerian entertainment executive and media entrepreneur, Tambari Steve, has taken to Facebook to celebrate renowned environmental activist, Teeh Celestine Akpobari.

His appreciation follows weeks of widespread social media attention surrounding the activist, who has been trending for his strong stance against injustice in Ogoniland and his opposition to the resumption of oil activities in the area.

Tambari, in his post, wrote:
I write this piece in deep appreciation of a truly great man, Teeh AkpoBari Celestine, a renowned environmental activist whose impact is felt across Ogoniland, the Niger Delta, and beyond.

My first physical encounter with Teeh Celestine Akpobari was in 2024 during the Ken Saro-Wiwa Candle Night at the popular Aggrey Road. That night, my team and I were actively promoting the Faji Nite Carnival across Ogoni platforms. Due to his very busy schedule, I couldn’t get the opportunity to properly connect with him. Little did I know that he had collected the phone number of my DOP.

I felt disappointed after the event because I had looked forward to meeting this great man—especially after hearing he was from my community.

However, the next day, 10th November 2024, my DOP called me and said, “Sir, that man from your community has been calling.” I immediately asked him to send me the number. Speaking with Teeh for the first time brought me so much joy.

We fixed an appointment at one of the five-star hotels in New GRA. I attended the meeting with some members of my team. That became my second physical encounter with him. To my surprise, he even cancelled his attendance at an award event—where he was a recipient—hosted by my media colleague, Boma Pepple, just to meet with us.

At the hotel, I shared with him our vision for a mega event planned for our community. He was genuinely happy to see young people initiating something impactful in his community. Long story short, he immediately agreed to support the event.

We kicked off publicity across Ogoniland, but frustration set in when the then chairman ordered the removal of all posters and banners in Bori due to the planned commissioning of the Bori Internal Road. Millions had already been spent on publicity materials. Throughout that period, Teeh kept encouraging us to stay strong and keep pushing.

One week to the event, at about 3am, Teeh Celestine Akpobari sent in millions of naira to support the carnival. I was shocked when he told me he would still send more before the event day.

On the night of equipment setup and sound check, he personally drove down at about 1am just to encourage us.

These are just a few of the many things he has done—not only for me, but for the brands I manage and for our beloved community, BUA KAANI Online community TV . What Teeh Celestine Akpobari has done for Bua Kaani made me understand a powerful truth: it is not rich people that help, but good people.

If you enter Bua Kaani today, about 90% of the community members speak highly of Teeh. That alone speaks volumes about the kind of man he is.
He is a man whose name echoes across Ogoni and the Niger Delta because of his positive impact and selfless contributions.

Teeh, I write this long episode to sincerely appreciate all you have done for me, my brand, and the entire Ogoni nation. The last time we spoke, I told you I am forever indebted to you—because you made the greatest investment of all: human investment.

May God continue to bless and preserve you for us all.
Thank you.
Tambari Steve
