Nigerians Will Massively Vote for Me If I Contest For Presidency – FCT Minister, Wike 

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, says he is confident of winning the presidency if he decides to run. 

Speaking during a media chat on Monday, the former Rivers State governor said his popularity and achievements in office give him an edge. 

“Nigerians still love me, and if I run for the presidential election, they will vote for me massively,” he stated. 

Wike added that his record as governor and current FCT Minister speaks for him and insisted that even if the recent FCT council election is repeated, his loyalists would still win.

The Supreme Court has dismissed an application for stay of execution of an Appeal Court ruling that led to the decision of electoral body, INEC to derecognize the Senator David Mark leadership of the Action Democratic Congress, ADC.  This dismissal by the Apex Court on Tuesday followed the withdrawal of the application by senator Mark's counsel Jibril Okutekpa, SAN.  Okutekpa had informed the five-member apex court panel headed by Justice Lawal Garba that INEC's interpretation of the Court of Appeal decision on March 12 has made the party 'leaderless.'  He says the 'injunctive order' for the aggrieved parties to maintain 'status quo antebellum' is the reason for the current leadership vacuum in the ADC. ADC DENIED EAGLE MKO ABIOLA STADIUM FOR CONVENTION

The African Democratic Congress has announced a new venue for its national convention scheduled to be held in Abuja on Tuesday. Earlier on Monday, the ADC said it was denied access to both Eagle Square and the Moshood Abiola National Stadium for its convention.  The opposition party said it had written to the office of the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, seeking permission to use Eagle Square, but although the letter was acknowledged, no official response had been received. But in another statement, the ADC said the national convention will take place at the Rainbow Event Centre in Abuja. But the FCT Minister has dismissed allegations by the ADC that it was denied access to Eagle Square in Abuja.  Wike described the claims as “unfounded” and an attempt to gain public sympathy. He said no formal application had been submitted by any of the parties making the allegation.
