MARRIED MEN SHOULD ALWAYS WEAR THEIR WEDDING RINGS TO KEEP DELILAHS AWAY - PASTOR TOLA ODUTOLA
Pastor Tola Odutola has advised married men to always wear their wedding rings, saying the ring can indicate that a man is married and help discourage other women from approaching him.
Odutola made the remark while discussing married men who do not wear their rings. He acknowledged that wearing a wedding ring is not a biblical requirement but said it was his personal view that married men should wear theirs.
“I just have a problem with men who are married that don’t use their rings. This is me. I just have a problem with it. So I’m not saying this one is inside the scripture, but this is just me,” he said.
The pastor questioned why a married man would stop wearing his ring because he had gained weight instead of getting a new one.
“And then you ask me, you say, Okay, Pastor T but why? The question I want to ask you is that when you started, did you not start with a ring? Or say, Oh, Pastor, you know, I’ve grown so big. You can change the ring now to the new size now,” he said.
Odutola noted that although women he referred to as “Delilahs” may not be afraid of a wedding ring, wearing one can still make a man’s marital status clear.
“Now, do the Delilahs of this world, of this age, do they fear your ring? Really? No but at least your ring will help for somebody to say, You know this guy. And then, and then, and then when they look at your face, it’s going to be difficult for you when you look at my face as a Delilah. This face? This face? They don’t declare madness with ordinary face. Oh, Lord have mercy. Is anybody hearing what I’m talking about here?” he said.
He concluded by urging people to consider how they present themselves, suggesting that one’s appearance can influence the attention they receive.
“But there’s something that you do, because when somebody says that you cannot find any insect or flies on a hot stove there is a reason for that. Ask yourself, how do I show up?” he said.
