TRADITIONAL HIGH CHIEF MISTAKENLY SHOT DEAD DURING COLLEAGUE'S FUNERAL CEREMONY IN ONDO

Tragedy struck in Ayeka, Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State, after a traditional High Chief was sh%t d+ad during a funeral ceremony on Monday. 

The incident reportedly occurred while the deceased’s colleagues were performing traditional funeral rites for him. 

According to an eyewitness, tension arose when an unidentified person carrying a firearm suddenly discharged the we@pon, with the bullet striking the High Chief in the head and k+lling him instantly. 

Some residents present at the ceremony said the sho%ting was believed to have been an accidental discharge. 

The spokesperson for the Ondo State Police Command, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, confirmed the incident on Tuesday and disclosed that one suspect had been arrested. 

He added that the police had commenced a detailed investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

American rapper, Rick Ross was arrested on domestic violence charges in Miami-Dade on Thursday, October 1. Ross, 50, whose legal name is William Leonard Roberts, was booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center at 6:10 a.m. on charges of battery and battery by strangulation, records show. Both charges are listed as involving domestic violence. He was arrested by Miami Beach Police. NIGERIAN WORKERS DECLARE THREE-DAY WARNING STRIKE OVER ECONOMIC HARDSHIP.

Public service workers across Nigeria have announced a three-day warning strike scheduled for October 2 to 4, 2026, to protest worsening economic conditions and demand improved welfare. The Joint National Public Service Negotiating Council (JNPSNC) directed its national and state executives to immediately mobilise workers for the industrial action, which will begin at midnight on Friday and end on Sunday. An Ogoni filmmaker, Idum Felix, has narrated how he rejected a $40,000 deal to produce adult-content films after discovering the true nature of the project.
