WIKE HOSTS DOKUBO-ASARI, CHINDA, JACKRICH, KALABARI MONARCH IN PORT HARCOURT

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, on Monday received the Amanyanabo of Torusarama Piri, Alhaji Mujahid Dokubo-Asari, alongside prominent Rivers political and traditional figures in Port Harcourt.

Among those present were Rivers State APC Governorship Candidate, Hon. Kingsley Chinda; Hon. Sobomabo Jackrich (Egberipapa); and other political stakeholders, as well as the Kalabari traditional ruler.

The meeting comes amid heightened political activities and realignments in Rivers State ahead of the 2027 elections. Chinda emerged as the APC governorship candidate earlier this year, although the party’s internal leadership and nomination processes have subsequently faced legal disputes.

The gathering also comes shortly after Dokubo-Asari featured prominently in reports over his political position ahead of 2027. In January, he publicly pledged support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election after Wike visited him at his palace in Degema.

More recently, preparations have commenced for Dokubo-Asari’s December 19 coronation, with Jackrich appointed Chairman of the Local Organising Committee.
