A man named Brian Mwenda shocked Kenya’s legal system after impersonating a lawyer and winning 26 cases before being arrested. According to Daily Mail, Mwenda allegedly gained unauthorized access to the Law Society of Kenya’s portal by uploading his photo and credentials under the name of a legitimate lawyer, Brian Mwenda Ntwiga. This allowed him to appear in court and represent clients without any formal legal training. 

Despite being unqualified, Mwenda successfully argued and won cases in Magistrates’ Courts, the High Court, and even the Court of Appeal. His courtroom performance stunned many, with some comparing him to fictional characters like Mike Ross from the TV show Suits.

BREAKING NEWS: POLICE SUSPEND NATIONWIDE ENFORCEMENT OF TINTED GLASS PERMIT PENDING COURT RULING

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has suspended the planned nationwide enforcement of the Tinted Glass Permit policy earlier scheduled to commence on January 2, 2026. The Force had initially announced on December 15, 2025, that it would resume enforcement of the policy as part of efforts to enhance public safety and internal security.  However, an interim court order issued on December 17, 2025, in Suit No. HOR/FHR/M/31/2025, directed the Police to halt the implementation pending the hearing and determination of the substantive case or the lifting of the order. In compliance with the directive, the NPF entered an appearance in court, filed preliminary objections, and applied for the vacation of the interim order. The matter has since been adjourned to January 20, 2026, for further proceedings.
