Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has been sentenced to life imprisonment by a Federal High Court in Abuja, Nigeria. The court found him guilty of terrorism charges, including inciting violence and membership of a proscribed organization. Justice James Omotosho, who delivered the judgment, described Kanu's actions as "barbaric, unconscionable, and aimed at causing anarchy". The court held that Kanu's broadcasts and declarations constituted acts of terrorism, and that he had failed to rebut the prosecution's evidence.
