MOVEMENT FOR THE SURVIVAL OF GOKANA PEOPLE (MOSGOP)

‎Official Statement on Attempts to Undermine the HYPREP Project Coordinator and Sabotage Ongoing Projects
‎
‎The attention of the Movement for the Survival of Gokana People (MOSGOP) has been drawn to reports indicating that certain individuals from a particular Local Government Area within Ogoniland are deliberately engaging in acts aimed at discrediting and undermining the good work of our son, who currently serves as the Project Coordinator of HYPREP.
‎
‎It is particularly disturbing to note that these individuals have resorted to acts of vandalism, including the recent incident at the Gwara Water Project, as part of a wider plot to malign his name and force his removal from office.
‎
‎We wish to state categorically that the people of Gokana will not tolerate any further attempts to sabotage the progress being recorded under his leadership.
‎Gokana remains the most environmentally impacted Local Government Area in Ogoniland  a fact well documented in the UNEP Environmental Assessment Report. Despite decades of neglect, our people have continued to bear the brunt of pollution and degradation. The appointment of a son of Gokana as HYPREP Project Coordinator is, therefore, a long-overdue recognition of this reality.

‎Any further attempt to frustrate or discredit him will be viewed as a direct attack on the collective interest of the Gokana people, and we shall respond appropriately within the bounds of the law to defend our rights and dignity.
‎
‎We also wish to remind all stakeholders that any future allocation of project funds should be guided strictly by the degree of environmental impact as outlined by UNEP, ensuring fairness, transparency, and justice across all affected areas.
‎
‎MOSGOP remains committed to the peaceful coexistence of all Ogoni people, but we will not stand by while a few individuals seek to destroy what little progress has been made.
‎
‎We call on all leaders, stakeholders, and peace-loving citizens of Ogoni to rise in defense of truth and fairness, and to reject any form of sabotage, blackmail, or divisive propaganda.

ADC REJECTS INEC’S INTERPRETATION OF APPEAL COURT DECISION, SAYS ELECTORAL BODY UNDER GOVERNMENT PRESSURE

 The African Democratic Congress has rejected the interpretation of the Court of Appeal ruling by the Independent National Electoral Commisson and removal of the names of David Mark and Rauf Aregbesola, its National Chairman and Secretary from its portal. The party said that INEC acted under pressure from a government panicked by the opposition momentum despite its efforts to destroy all opposition parties and foist a one-party rule on Nigeria. The ADC in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, described INEC’s position as contradictory and inconsistent with facts, insisting that it would publicly clarify the issues. While warning that the commission has effectively sided with the government against Nigerians, the ADC said it is currently reviewing its options and will announce its next steps soon. The party urged its members and the public to remain steadfast as events unfold.
