ACCORDING TO DR. FABEKE, HYPREP UNDER THE TINUBU ADMINISTRATION SPENT N32 BILLION ON JUST 19 WATER TANK PROJECTS ACROSS OGONILAND. | #RWGBLOG

President and Founder of the Ogoni Liberation Initiative, Dr. Fabeke, has again voiced strong dissatisfaction over the quality of work executed by HYPREP on various water projects across Ogoniland.
This comes shortly after he paid a solidarity visit to communities affected by the recent collapse of a HYPREP water tank.

Recall that during an interview with RwGBlog News last week, Dr. Fabeke revealed that ₦1.9 billion was reportedly spent on each water tank project in Ogoniland. He condemned the alleged use of substandard materials, which, according to him, has led to repeated structural failures.

In a new publication on his official Facebook page, Dr. Fabeke further alleged that a total of ₦32,465,982,979.18 has already been spent on water projects across 19 Ogoni communities, despite many of these facilities being non-functional.

According to him, investigations are ongoing to fully understand why the projects have failed and to ensure Ogoni people get the safe and functional water systems they deserve. He added that HYPREP and the contractors involved must explain the causes of the widespread malfunction.

He assured the people that the Ogoni Liberation Initiative is committed to exposing how Ogoni communities may have been shortchanged and devalued, despite being the primary beneficiaries of the environmental remediation programme.

He urged residents to continue sending in their reports and evidence to support the ongoing investigation.

  3. How can you spend that amount of money to fix or establish a working water system to alleviate the people’s sufferings, instead of doing a good job they can be proud of, they decided to do substandard work and stole the money given to them to do the job. I don’t understand why people in this Nigeria can’t be patriotic citizens and be proud to build their country to be envy’ of other countries. The money allocated for these jobs were a lot to do a fantastic jobs and still have a lot of profits for the contractors. But these contractors are so greed that they are willing to sell their souls for money. Also the officials that awarded the contract are part of the problem by demanding almost half of the awarded money as a kick back. Why should you pay a contractor before inspecting the job done. You’re all doing and working together “ embezzle and divide.” They’re all thieves very greedy and corrupt. May God help Nigeria.
