JUST IN: PRIVATE JET CRASH-LANDS IN KANO, ALL PASSENGERS AND CREW SAFE


In the early hours of Sunday, a private jet operated by FlyBird reportedly made an emergency crash-landing at the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA) in Kano State.

Reports indicate that all passengers and crew members were safely evacuated, with no casualties recorded. The cause of the incident has not yet been determined.

A Federal High Court judgment delivered today, Wednesday, December 17, 2025, has officially banned the Inspector General of Police (IGP) and all officers from enforcing tinted glass permit policies. The court, presided over by Justice Joe Egwu, also barred the police from harassing, arresting, detaining, or extorting motorists and citizens under the guise of implementing the policy. The injunction further restrains the police from using the Parkway Projects Account a private contractor’s account for any government business until the substantive suit is heard and determined. The order followed an application filed by Mr. Israel Joe in suit HOR/FHR/M.3/2025, represented by Mr. Kunle Edun, SAN, and other lawyers. It effectively stops the Nigeria Police from resuming the tinted glass permit enforcement scheduled for January 2, 2026. In a resignation letter dated December 12, 2025, addressed to the State Chairman and the Ward 9 Chairman of Khana Local Government Area, Engr. Deekae described the decision as a difficult one, citing personal reasons which were not disclosed in the letter. Sources revealed that his move was triggered by the recent defection of Governor Siminalayi Fubara from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC. Engr. Deekae expressed deep appreciation to the leadership and members of the ADC for their support and commitment while working with him, wishing the party well in its future endeavors.
