"UNA SUGAR DON FINISH, ALLOCATION NO DEY AGAIN" -- TAMBARI JACOB CRITICISES FORMER PORT HARCOURT CITY MAYOR, ICHEMATI
Tambari Jacob has criticised Nigerians who applaud politicians for organising December giveaways, describing the gesture as misleading and insincere. He argued that the funds used for such giveaways are often public resources meant for the people, yet politicians are praised for distributing what already belongs to the public.
According to Jacob, Nigerians have developed a habit of celebrating leaders who use citizens’ common wealth to gain popularity through handouts.
His remarks were sparked by a trending photo of former Port Harcourt City Local Government Chairman, Hon. Ezebunwo Ichemati, at a “Chicken and Rice 2024” giveaway event.
Reacting to the image, Jacob remarked, “Una sugar don finish, allocation no dey again,” suggesting that such giveaways only happen when public funds are readily available.
