Nigerian Christian minister, Apostle Arome Osayi, has stirred reactions online after a statement attributed to him suggested that young believers should spend extended hours praying in tongues. According to the quote circulating on social media, the cleric said that anyone who reaches the age of 21 without speaking in tongues continuously for several hours is not living up to their spiritual potential.

PRESIDENT TINUBU NOMINATES ABE AS CHAIR OF NUPRC, SEEKS SENATE CONFIRMATION

Rivers State Executive Council (EXCO) has approved a proposed ₦1.85 trillion budget for the 2026 fiscal year. The budget is tagged “Budget of Resilience for Growth and Development.” The approval was given on Friday, January 2, 2026, at the EXCO meeting held at Government House, Port Harcourt, and chaired by Governor Siminalayi Fubara. Speaking after the meeting, the Special Adviser on Economic Matters, Prof. Peter Medee, said the budget will be used to complete ongoing projects and settle outstanding obligations of the state. He said key areas of focus include infrastructure, health, education, agriculture, youth empowerment, human capacity development, culture, tourism, and ICT.
