CHINDA WARNS IHUNWO AGAINST RECOGNIZING FUBARA AS POLITICAL LEADER
Political tensions boiled over at a reconciliation meeting in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area on Thursday as Representative Kingsley Chinda and Chijioke Ihunwo engaged in a heated confrontation over who truly leads Rivers State.
The clash erupted when Ihunwo took the floor and openly declared Governor Siminalayi Fubara as his leader. The statement visibly angered Chinda, who rejected the microphone offered to him and instead delivered an immediate, unscripted outburst.
Visibly dissatisfied, the lawmaker declared that Fubara is not the leader of the state. Chinda insisted that former Governor Nyesom Wike remains the only person entitled to be called the leader in Rivers State. He directly challenged Ihunwo, asking whether he truly understood that reality.
The fiery exchange underscored the deep divisions that continue to shape politics in Rivers State, even as stakeholders gather in efforts to foster reconciliation.
