Dr. Fabeke Douglas, Founder of the Ogoni Liberation Initiative, has visited the community affected by the recent HYPREP water tank collapse to show solidarity.
Speaking to RwGBlog News, Dr. Fabeke disclosed that the Gwara and Ebubu water projects were awarded to Dullz Dredging and Construction Limited and Surez Global Resources Limited, with each project reportedly costing one billion, nine hundred million naira, fully paid to the contractors.
He described the collapsed water tank as a significant loss to the entire Ogoni people, noting that HYPREP will now have to seek additional funds to rebuild and complete a new water facility.
Dr. Fabeke also stated his commitment to uncovering the cause of the collapse within seven days. He confirmed that he has written to the two companies involved, requesting clarification on key details to aid his investigation.
