ADC DENIED EAGLE MKO ABIOLA STADIUM FOR CONVENTION

The African Democratic Congress has announced a new venue for its national convention scheduled to be held in Abuja on Tuesday. Earlier on Monday, the ADC said it was denied access to both Eagle Square and the Moshood Abiola National Stadium for its convention.

The opposition party said it had written to the office of the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, seeking permission to use Eagle Square, but although the letter was acknowledged, no official response had been received. But in another statement, the ADC said the national convention will take place at the Rainbow Event Centre in Abuja. But the FCT Minister has dismissed allegations by the ADC that it was denied access to Eagle Square in Abuja.

Wike described the claims as “unfounded” and an attempt to gain public sympathy. He said no formal application had been submitted by any of the parties making the allegation.
