URGENT ACTION REQUIRED AS MINISTER WIKE'S CONDUCT POSES A CLEAR THREAT TO NATIONAL SECURITY - TUKUR BURATAI, FORMER CHIEF OF ARMY STAFF. | #RWGBLOG

The events of November 11, 2025, involving the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Barrister Nyesom Wike, demand an immediate and serious response. His public disparagement of a uniformed officer of the Nigerian Armed Forces transcends mere misconduct; it represents a palpable threat to national security and institutional integrity.

A minister’s verbal assault on a military officer in uniform is an act of profound indiscipline that strikes at the core of our nation's command and control structure. It deliberately undermines the chain of command, disrespects the authority of the Commander-in-Chief, and grievously wounds the morale of every individual who serves under the Nigerian flag. Such actions erode the very foundation of discipline upon which our national security apparatus stands.

This can not be dismissed as political theatre. It is a reckless endangerment of national order. This action by Wike is clearly an indication of undermining  the federal government’s authority.

Consequently, Barrister Nyesom Wike must tender an immediate and unequivocal public apology to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as Commander-in-Chief, the entire Armed Forces of Nigeria, and the specific officer whose honour was violated. 

Our nation's security must come first. It is time for decisive action, not politics of military bashing. The integrity of our Armed Forces demands nothing less.

    There is a common saying that two wrongs can not make a right. First, the government gave an order that the land should not be developed without approval from the ministry of the FCT, yet, the retired naval officer disregarded that order thus disrespecting the order of the FGN. Now the FCT minister on the other hand did not also do well because the officer he was calling names was on uniform which is the symbol of FGN. And again the offier was acting on instructions by his superior officer which wike should know that there is a chain of command. I hereby submit that the FCT minister does not have to apologize to any body because respect is Reciprocal.

    The FCT Minister doesn't even shows he occupied a highly respected position, how can you be insulting someone in name of trying to correct the person

The National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, Senator Ajibola Basiru, on Monday, expressed support for Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, ahead of the 2027 general elections. Basiru is urging residents of the state to rally behind the APC, President Bola Tinubu, and Governor Fubara, describing the governor’s performance as commendable. SHEIKH GUMI URGES FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TO IMMEDIATELY SUSPEND MILITARY OPERATIONS WITH THE U.S. AFTER REPORTED AIRSTRIKE

Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi has called on the Federal Government to immediately halt all military cooperation with the United States following reported US airstrikes. Pastor William Folorunsho Kumuyi, General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, has once again clarified the church’s stance on Christmas.  He emphasized that since the ministry’s inception, they have never organized a Christmas retreat, instead holding what they call a “December retreat.”  According to Pastor Kumuyi, the church does not celebrate Christmas because it originates from what he describes as an idolatrous background.  He asserted that any attempt to introduce elements associated with the so-called “mystery Babylon” into the church, including Christmas, is strictly rejected, reaffirming that the practice is unbiblical.

FG DECLARES DECEMBER 25, 26 AND JANUARY 1 PUBLIC HOLIDAYS

The Federal Government has declared December 25 and 26, 2025, as well as January 1, 2026, public holidays to mark Christmas, Boxing Day, and the New Year celebrations. A statement by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior, Dr Magdalene Ajani indicates that the declaration was made on behalf of the Federal Government by the Minister, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo. The Minister calls for reflection on the values of love, peace, humility, and sacrifice associated with the birth of Jesus Christ. He also calls on Nigerians, regardless of faith or ethnicity, to use the festive season to pray for peace, security, and national progress. Tunji-Ojo further urges citizens to remain law-abiding and security conscious during the celebrations, while wishing Nigerians a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.

The EFCC has also released the list of properties valued at N212.8billion, which were mostly acquired during Malami's eight years (2015-2023) in office as Attorney-General of the Federation. The properties, which include hotels, residential buildings, lands, schools, and a printing press, are scattered across Kebbi, Kano, and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The properties in Kebbi state are valued at N162 billion while the assets in Kano state are said to be worth N16 billion, and the value of the FCT properties was put at N34.6 billion.
