BREAKING NEWS: UNKNOWN GUNMEN REPORTEDLY SH00T KING SUANU T.Y. BARIDAM

His Royal Majesty, King Dr. Suanu T.Y. Baridam, JP, the Gbenemene Bangha, has reportedly been shot by unknown assailants.

Sources close to 12:12 Network, which is monitoring the development, disclosed that the monarch was attacked in the early hours of Sunday by yet-to-be-identified gunmen. The motive behind the attack remains unclear.

As of the time of filing this report, the whereabouts of King Baridam have not been officially confirmed, and details regarding his condition remain sketchy.

This incident marks the second time the Gbenemene Bangha Kingdom has come under attack. Security agencies have launched an investigation and are intensifying efforts to track down and apprehend those responsible.

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has revoked the operating licenses of forty-six (46) Microfinance Banks with effect from July 1, 2026. A statement released by the apex bank today July 1, says the revocation was approved by the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr. Olayemi Cardoso, following the banks’ failure to meet the regulatory requirements for continued operation as licensed financial institutions. According to the revocation order, the action became necessary due to Insufficient assets to meet liabilities, Closure of operations without the CBN approval, Inactivity and cessation of financial intermediation, Failure to commence operations within 12 months of licence approval, and Failure to maintain minimum capital funds unimpaired by losses. The Federal Government has announced plans to discontinue the policy separating the administration of Junior Secondary Schools (JSS) and Senior Secondary Schools (SSS), describing it as an ineffective reform that has contributed to rising school dropout rates.
