DANGER LOOMS AS TANKER OVERTURNS ON BRIDGE, CROWD GATHERS TO COLLECT SPILLED CONTENTS

A tanker has overturned on a major bridge, creating a highly dangerous and volatile situation for motorists and nearby residents. Despite the obvious risk of fire or explosion, large crowds were seen gathering under the bridge, scooping the contents spilling from the fallen tanker.

Eyewitnesses described the scene as chaotic, with people using containers and buckets to collect the leaking substance, believed to be fuel, while traffic remained disrupted on the bridge above. The reckless action has raised serious safety concerns, as even a minor spark could trigger a devastating explosion.

Emergency responders and security agencies have been alerted to the incident, but the growing crowd continues to pose a major challenge to safety efforts.

Authorities have warned that the situation could escalate into a major disaster if the area is not immediately cordoned off and the crowd dispersed.

Residents have been urged to stay away from the scene as officials work to prevent loss of lives and property.

The federal government says consignments of Lenacapavir, a new drug for HIV prevention, are expected to arrive in Nigeria in March 2026. In a statement on Monday, the National Agency for the Control of AIDS (NACA), said it is advancing preparations for the introduction and rollout of Lenacapavir (LEN) as pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP). It said the the move was part of its commitment to accelerate progress towards HIV epidemic control. Lenacapavir is a long-acting HIV prevention drug. It is an injectable PrEP option taken only twice a year. A State High Court in Awka, Anambra State, has sentenced popular native doctor, Chukwudozie Nwangwu, widely known as “Akwa Okuko Tiwaraki,” to prison over multiple criminal charges linked to rit¥al practices. Mr Nwangwu was arrested in February 2025 by operatives of Agunechemba, a local vigilante group, over allegations of preparing charms for criminals. The Anambra State Police later slammed him with a 10-count charge bordering on rit¥al activities, robbery, conspiracy, aiding internet fra¥dsters and preparing charms for criminal purposes. Although he had earlier pleaded not guilty, he changed his plea during Friday’s proceedings.
