JUST IN: WEDDING PLANNER LEAKED MY PLAN TO REMARRY - PASTOR CHRIS OKAFOR

The founder of Mountain of Liberation and Miracle Ministry, Pastor Chris Okafor, has responded to allegations made against him by actress Doris Ogala, describing the claims as inconsistent and malicious.

Speaking to journalists in Lagos on Thursday, Okafor addressed accusations that he was involved in the d+ath of Ogala’s brother, had a long-term affair with her, and failed to fulfill a promise of marriage.

Reacting to the controversy, he said: “The same person who accused me of m¥rder is the same person crying that I want to abandon her and marry someone else. How could she want to marry someone who allegedly k+lled her brother?” He added that “there is so much about the matter than meets the ordinary eye, and so many unanswered questions and glaring lies.”

He further alleged that his ex-wife joined the accusations, claiming he attempted to defile one of their daughters. According to him, “The same ex-wife and daughter have gone to a popular blogger to ask that I pay for their school fees and upkeep abroad of about N80 million. The same father trying to defile them? Which woman will do that?” He added. 

Okafor dismissed the allegations as false and part of a coordinated attempt to damage his reputation.

CBN REVOKES OPERATING LICENCES OF 46 MICROFINANCE BANKS OVER FAILURE TO MEET REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has revoked the operating licenses of forty-six (46) Microfinance Banks with effect from July 1, 2026. A statement released by the apex bank today July 1, says the revocation was approved by the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr. Olayemi Cardoso, following the banks’ failure to meet the regulatory requirements for continued operation as licensed financial institutions. According to the revocation order, the action became necessary due to Insufficient assets to meet liabilities, Closure of operations without the CBN approval, Inactivity and cessation of financial intermediation, Failure to commence operations within 12 months of licence approval, and Failure to maintain minimum capital funds unimpaired by losses. The Federal Government has announced plans to discontinue the policy separating the administration of Junior Secondary Schools (JSS) and Senior Secondary Schools (SSS), describing it as an ineffective reform that has contributed to rising school dropout rates. Minister of Education, Dr. Olatunji Alausa, made the announcement on Tuesday in Abuja, saying the policy, which created separate management structures for JSS and SSS, has failed to achieve its objectives. The US Supreme Court has upheld birthright citizenship, rejecting President Donald Trump’s attempt to end automatic citizenship for children born in the United States to undocumented immigrants and most temporary foreign residents. In a 6-3 ruling, the court reaffirmed that the Citizenship Clause of the 14th Amendment guarantees US citizenship to anyone born on American soil and ruled that the Constitution does not support Trump’s interpretation of the law.
