"IF I HAVE SINNED YOU, FORGIVE ME, AS NIGERIANS." - PRESIDENT TINUBU, SPEAKING AT THE RAMADAN TAFSIR

At the Ramadan Tafsir held at the State House Mosque in Abuja, President Bola Tinubu called on Nigerians to embrace unity, peace and moral renewal as the holy month begins.

Speaking during the gathering, the president urged citizens to use the period of fasting as an opportunity to draw closer to God and reflect on their actions.

“We start this Ramadan with all the teachings that it brings to us. We should use this fasting as a means to get closer to God and have peace,” he said.

He also made a personal appeal, asking Nigerians for forgiveness if he had wronged them. In his words;  “If I Have Sinned You, Forgive Me, As Nigerians”, while emphasizing the need for national cohesion and spiritual rejuvenation throughout the Ramadan season.

The Independent Broadcast Association of Nigeria (IBAN) has asked Nyesom Wike, minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), to retract a remark he made about Seun Okinbaloye, a journalist with Channels Television. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says it will no longer accept correspondences from either faction of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) led by David Mark or Rafiu Bala, following its review of the March 12 court of appeal judgement. In a statement signed by Mohammed Kudu, INEC commissioner for information and voter education, the commission said it will also refrain from engaging with both groups or monitoring their meetings, congresses, and conventions pending the determination of the case before the federal high court.

ADC REJECTS INEC’S INTERPRETATION OF APPEAL COURT DECISION, SAYS ELECTORAL BODY UNDER GOVERNMENT PRESSURE

 The African Democratic Congress has rejected the interpretation of the Court of Appeal ruling by the Independent National Electoral Commisson and removal of the names of David Mark and Rauf Aregbesola, its National Chairman and Secretary from its portal. The party said that INEC acted under pressure from a government panicked by the opposition momentum despite its efforts to destroy all opposition parties and foist a one-party rule on Nigeria. The ADC in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, described INEC’s position as contradictory and inconsistent with facts, insisting that it would publicly clarify the issues. While warning that the commission has effectively sided with the government against Nigerians, the ADC said it is currently reviewing its options and will announce its next steps soon. The party urged its members and the public to remain steadfast as events unfold.
