"ALL THE SO-CALLED ANCHOR HEADS IN TOWN JUST KEEP MUTE, TOWN IS SUFFERING FROM POOR ELECTRICITY SUPPLY." - TAMBARI STEVE LAMENTS OVER POOR ELECTRICITY SUPPLY IN PORT HARCOURT TOWNSHIP.
Media entrepreneur Tambari Steve has raised alarm over the persistent electricity crisis in Port Harcourt Township, describing the situation as devastating for businesses and residents.
In the early hours of Saturday, March 21, 2026, Steve took to his Instagram status to express frustration over what he described as years of neglect in power supply across the area. In a four-minute video, he lamented that for over three years, the township has struggled to receive even one hour of electricity daily.
According to him, the prolonged outage has forced many businesses to shut down or relocate, while residents continue to endure harsh living conditions.
He noted that improved electricity supply would significantly boost economic activities in the area, emphasizing that Port Harcourt Township remains one of the largest business hubs in Rivers State.
Steve further argued that electricity providers could generate substantial revenue if consistent power were restored to the area, given its commercial importance.
In his remarks, he also questioned the silence of key stakeholders, including influential figures in the region.
“All the so-called anchor heads just keep mute,” he said, expressing disappointment over what he perceives as a lack of concern and advocacy from leaders amid the ongoing crisis.
