"PRES. TINUBU IS THE MOST POWERFUL PRESIDENT IN THE WORLD. HE IS STRONGER THAN PRES. TRUMP." - PDP CHIEFTAIN

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has stirred reactions after declaring that President Bola Tinubu is the most powerful president globally, even stronger than United States President Donald Trump.

Speaking during an interview on Trust TV News, the PDP stalwart argued that the office of Nigeria’s president wields enormous constitutional powers, surpassing that of state governors and even some world leaders.

“The president of a country is the most powerful. The president of Nigeria is the most powerful president in the world. Tinubu is stronger than Trump. The bills that has been going to him in the National Assembly, Trump can’t do that in America. 

Trump can’t do that in the senate or in the congress. No, he cannot. But, Tinubu can get it done. He can summon them. That’s how powerful the Nigerian president is,” he said. He stressed that the Nigerian president exercises sweeping influence over the executive and legislative arms of government.

The federal government says consignments of Lenacapavir, a new drug for HIV prevention, are expected to arrive in Nigeria in March 2026. In a statement on Monday, the National Agency for the Control of AIDS (NACA), said it is advancing preparations for the introduction and rollout of Lenacapavir (LEN) as pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP). It said the the move was part of its commitment to accelerate progress towards HIV epidemic control. Lenacapavir is a long-acting HIV prevention drug. It is an injectable PrEP option taken only twice a year. A State High Court in Awka, Anambra State, has sentenced popular native doctor, Chukwudozie Nwangwu, widely known as “Akwa Okuko Tiwaraki,” to prison over multiple criminal charges linked to rit¥al practices. Mr Nwangwu was arrested in February 2025 by operatives of Agunechemba, a local vigilante group, over allegations of preparing charms for criminals. The Anambra State Police later slammed him with a 10-count charge bordering on rit¥al activities, robbery, conspiracy, aiding internet fra¥dsters and preparing charms for criminal purposes. Although he had earlier pleaded not guilty, he changed his plea during Friday’s proceedings.
