PRESIDENCY HAS DEBUNKED CIRCULATING CLAIMS THAT STAFF MEMBER FROM THE ASO ROCK VILLA KITCHEN WAS ARRESTED OR ATTEMPTED TO PO!SON PRESIDENT TINUBU

The Presidency has dismissed claims that a kitchen staff member at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa was arrested for trying to p%ison President Bola Tinubu. 

The denial came from the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, on Sunday, March 1. He addressed a circulating video showing scenes allegedly from the presidential villa, with a voiceover narrating a supposed security breach involving a presidential chef. 

In the video, the narrator stated: “Today we examine reports surrounding the shocking arrest of a presidential chef over an alleged plot to p%ison President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, an incident that has prompted swift intervention by a special police squad and triggered heightened security measures within the presidential environment. According to preliminary information from security sources, the arrest followed intelligence alerts suggesting suspicious activities connected to food preparation procedures within restricted areas linked to presidential operations. 

“Authorities moved quickly after receiving credible reports that indicated a possible thr£at to the safety of the president, leading to a coordinated investigation involving specialised security personnel tasked with protecting national leadership. Officials emphasized that the operation was carried out professionally and discreetly to avoid public panic while ensuring that all potential risks were neutralised.” 

“The suspect, identified as a member of kitchen staff attached to presidential services, was reportedly taken into custody for questioning as investigators began examining evidence and verifying claims connected to the alleged p%isoning attempt. Security agencies have urged the public to remain calm, stressing that the investigation remains ongoing and that allegations do not automatically imply guilt until due process.” 

Onanuga refuted the claims directly, writing: “No Aso Rock kitchen staff arrested. No Aso Rock kitchen staff attempted to p%ison President Tinubu. Please ignore this fake news being disseminated by this video.”

The United States has begun enforcing a new visa restriction policy aimed at individuals accused of violating religious freedom in Nigeria, according to Mark Walker, the US principal adviser for global religious freedom. ADC DENIED EAGLE MKO ABIOLA STADIUM FOR CONVENTION

The African Democratic Congress has announced a new venue for its national convention scheduled to be held in Abuja on Tuesday. Earlier on Monday, the ADC said it was denied access to both Eagle Square and the Moshood Abiola National Stadium for its convention.  The opposition party said it had written to the office of the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, seeking permission to use Eagle Square, but although the letter was acknowledged, no official response had been received. But in another statement, the ADC said the national convention will take place at the Rainbow Event Centre in Abuja. But the FCT Minister has dismissed allegations by the ADC that it was denied access to Eagle Square in Abuja.  Wike described the claims as “unfounded” and an attempt to gain public sympathy.
