FG DECLARES FRIDAY, APRIL 3 AND MONDAY, APRIL 6 AS PUBLIC HOLIDAYS FOR EASTER CELEBRATION

The Federal Government has announced Friday, April 3, and Monday, April 6, 2026, as public holidays to mark this year’s Easter celebration. 

The Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, made the declaration on behalf of the government, extending warm congratulations to Christians in Nigeria and across the diaspora on the occasion. 

He urged Nigerians to reflect the virtues of selflessness, forgiveness, patience, and love, as demonstrated by the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. 

Dr. Tunji-Ojo also encouraged citizens to continue promoting unity, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence, which are essential for national development. 

He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to policies aimed at national renewal, economic growth, and shared prosperity, while wishing all Christians a joyful and peaceful Easter celebration.
