During a recent interview on Wazobia TV, the host reflected on one of 2Baba’s enduring songs, “E Be Like Say”, noting that the theme he sang about years ago seem to be repeating in the current political season. The host said, “Now we are back in that political season again, and the same issues are still happening”

2Baba responded, “We are better off than many years ago. Just look at it.”

The host then asked if 2Baba had any plans to enter politics. He explained that he once campaigned in a role that required him to remain non-participatory, but he intends to continue his efforts in a personal capacity. He said, “It’s still ongoing, but I will continue doing it. I will set up my own position and try to make a difference. I’ll try to make it work because I know where I stand.”

He added, “I have personally appointed myself as an ambassador of Nigeria an ambassador everywhere, I am a self-appointed ambassador of Nigeria to everywhere.”

The attackers, who were operating a tricycle, reportedly opened fire, leaving one of the victims with severe gunshot injuries. The injured victim was immediately rushed to BMH Hospital in Port Harcourt, where she later died on March 21, 2026, while receiving treatment. Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has issued a bench warrant for the arrest of Kabiru Tanimu Turaki (SAN). The court, presided over by Justice Keke Meke, also refused an application by the defence counsel seeking to quash the charges against the defendant. Turaki is to be arraigned before the court by the Nigeria Police Force, led by the Inspector General of Police, over allegations of providing false information to the police. Earlier, the matter had been assigned to a High Court sitting in Zuba. However, Turaki failed to appear in court to take his plea. Subsequently, his legal team filed a petition against the judge and requested that the case be reassigned. In his ruling delivered on Thursday, Justice Meke held that there was no justification for the defendant’s absence, noting that Turaki was fully aware of the court proceedings.
