A Message from The Ogoni Youth Consensus for Good Governance to the Leaders and Stakeholders of the African Democratic Congress [ADC].

Subject: Endorsement of Dr. Leloonu Nwibubasa for Governor – A Choice for Credibility, Capacity, and the Future of Rivers State

Distinguished Leaders and Stakeholders of the ADC,

We, the Ogoni Youths, speaking on behalf of one of the largest, most organized, and politically conscious youth populations in Rivers State, write to you with clarity and conviction.

After wide consultations across Khana, Gokana, Tai, and Eleme, and after measuring every aspirant against what our people truly need, we stand united to endorse Dr. Leloonu Nwibubasa* for Governor of Rivers State on the platform of the ADC.

Why Dr. Leloonu Nwibubasa?

1. He has the credibility we can defend.  
Dr. Leloonu has walked with the people without breaking trust. No scandal, no betrayal of his community, no record of exploiting public office for private gain. In a time when trust is the scarcest currency in politics, he comes with his integrity intact. That matters to Ogoni youths who are tired of defending the indefensible.

2. He has the capacity to deliver.
We have seen his track record in public service, academia, and community development. He understands policy, he understands people, and he understands how to translate plans into projects that touch lives. Rivers State needs a Governor who can manage resources, attract investment, and run a government that works—not one learning on the job.

3. He is trustworthy to the people and to his leaders.
Dr. Leloonu has never built his name by undermining his leaders or abandoning his people when it became convenient. He keeps his word. For Ogoni youths, that means we can mobilize, campaign, and stand with him without fear that we will be sold out the day after victory.

4. Ogoni stands behind this endorsement with weight. 
We are a significant voting bloc with a history of political discipline when we see a credible cause. Mobilizing Ogoni youths means mobilizing structure, volunteers, and voters across multiple LGAs. We are ready to do that for a candidate who reflects our values and our future.

Our Appeal to ADC Leadership:

ADC has a chance to break the cycle of recycling failed options. By giving Dr. Leloonu Nwibubasa your ticket, you are not just choosing a candidate. You are choosing a movement built on trust, competence, and the liberation of our people from systems that have kept Rivers State underperforming.

We are not asking you to take our word alone. Engage him. Test his plans for education, health, youth employment, and resource management. You will see the difference between a politician and a leader.

Our Commitment:

If ADC stands with Dr. Leloonu, Ogoni Youths will stand with ADC. We will organize, we will canvass, and we will defend this mandate at the polls with the energy and numbers that reflect our population and our resolve.

Rivers State cannot afford another experiment. We need a Governor who has not ruptured trust, who has the capacity to govern, and who is accountable to both the people and his party.

Dr. Leloonu Nwibubasa is that man. Ogoni Youths endorse him without reservation.

We trust that ADC will make the choice that history will remember as the turning point.

JUST IN: PGF DENIES REPORT OF UZODIMMA'S REMOVAL AS CHAIRMAN

ABUJA — The Director-General of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF), Folorunsho Aluko, has dismissed reports alleging the removal of Hope Uzodimma as chairman of the forum. In a statement issued on Friday morning, Aluko said no such decision was taken, stressing that no meeting of the forum was held to that effect. “No meeting of the forum was held at which any such decision was taken. The PGF Secretariat has no record of, and is not aware of, any resolution removing the chairman,” he stated. He reaffirmed Uzodimma’s position, declaring that the Imo State governor remains firmly in charge of the forum. “His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodimma, remains the chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum,” Aluko added. DR. FABEKE BLASTS NDDC OVER RELOCATION OF ELECTRICITY PROJECT MEANT FOR OGONI COMMUNITY

The President of the Ogoni Liberation Initiative, Fabeke Douglas, has criticized the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) over the alleged relocation of a project originally approved for Lueku Community in Khana Local Government Area, Ogoni, to the Obio/Akpor axis of Rivers State. Dr. Fabeke, who is also an AA Senatorial aspirant, described the development as unfair and unacceptable, calling on the commission to immediately address the matter. He revealed that petitions have already been submitted to the NDDC and relevant security agencies, demanding a thorough investigation into the alleged project diversion. The All Progressives Congress (APC) Screening Committee for the Rivers State House of Assembly has officially released its results , clearing 33 aspirants and disqualifying 65 others following a two-day exercise on May 9 and 10, 2026. TINUBU GOVERNMENT WARNS WORLD BANK OVER DELAYS IN LOAN APPROVAL, DISBURSEMENTS - SOURCE SAHARA REPORTERS

Nigeria’s Accountant-General of the Federation, Dr Shamseldeen Ogunjimi, has warned that the federal government may reconsider its loan arrangements with the World Bank if delays in approvals and disbursements continue to hinder project implementation.  The warning followed concerns over the slow pace at which loan facilities are being processed, despite their importance to national development projects. Ogunjimi stressed that the funds involved are repayable loans, not grants, and therefore should not be subjected to prolonged delays that could disrupt government planning and execution.  He noted that in some cases, approvals take more than six months, a situation he said could force Nigeria to reassess its participation in such financial agreements.
