"I REGRET GOING SOLAR, I'M DISAPPOINTED, NEPA REMAINS THE BEST OPTION" - MAN REGRETS SWITCHING AFTER MILLIONS SPENT
A man has shared his disappointing experience months after switching from NEPA to solar energy, despite spending millions of naira on the installation.
According to him, the extremely high cost of electricity in his area, coupled with recommendations from friends and colleagues, pushed him to embrace solar power as a more reliable and cost-effective alternative.
He went ahead and installed a full solar system in his home, hoping to enjoy stable power supply and escape the frequent blackouts and exorbitant bills. Unfortunately, he was left deeply disappointed as the solar system f4iled to meet his expectations.
He explained that the solar panels up to 10 could not consistently power his household appliances, especially during cloudy or rainy days, and the batteries drained faster than anticipated, forcing him to still rely on the grid at night.
The man further emphasized that instead of rushing to switch to solar, which he now considers unreliable and expensive to maintain, Nigerians should put pressure on the government to fix the power sector, drastically reduce electricity tariffs, and improve supply from the national grid.
He advised others considering solar to do thorough research, calculate their actual energy needs properly, and weigh the long-term costs before making such a huge investment.
What's your own experiences??
