SECURITY OPERATIVE IN LAGOS PRAISED FOR RETURNING CUSTOMER'S MISPLACED $9,100

A security operative, Adebanjo Samuel, has received widespread commendation after returning $9,100 mistakenly left behind by a customer at a First City Monument Bank (FCMB) branch in Marina, Lagos.

The incident occurred on May 25, 2026, while Adebanjo was on duty. His employer, Proton Security Service Limited, praised his honesty, describing the act as a reflection of the discipline, professionalism, and ethical values expected of its personnel.

To recognise his integrity, the company announced plans to host a special civic reception where Adebanjo will be formally honoured in the presence of colleagues, family members, industry stakeholders, and media representatives.

The Managing Director of Proton Security, Odebunmi Adekunmi, said Adebanjo’s conduct exemplifies the organisation’s core values, noting that true professionalism involves doing the right thing even when no one is watching.

Speaking on the recognition, Adebanjo said his decision to return the money was guided by principle rather than the amount involved. He explained that honesty and integrity were values instilled in him from a young age and should never be compromised under any circumstance.

Also reacting, the company’s Director of Business Development and Strategy, Olabisi Familusi, said the gesture goes beyond individual recognition, adding that it sends a positive message about integrity and reinforces trust in Nigeria’s private security industry.

According to him, Adebanjo’s actions serve as a reminder that character and honesty remain among the most valuable qualities a person can possess.
