BREAKING NEWS: SOUTH AFRICA SINGER, TYLA HAS REPORTEDLY CANCELLED HER LAGOS CONCERT

South African singer and dancer, Tyla, who was recently facing growing calls for a boycott of her scheduled Lagos concert following renewed outrage over alleged xenophobic attacks against Nigerians and other African migrants in South Africa.

The Grammy-winning artiste is set to perform in Lagos on December 22, 2026, as part of her APOP World Tour.

However, some Nigerians have taken to social media to demand a boycott of the concert, criticising Tyla for what they described as her silence over the reported attacks on Nigerians in South Africa.

Report circulating across social media indicates she has cancelled her LAGOS concert.

CAN OPPOSES N50,000 FINE FOR PREACHING IN COMMERCIAL BUSES, SAYS IT VIOLATES NIGERIANS CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS, URGES TINUBU TO REJECT BILL

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), South-West zone, has rejected the proposed ban on preaching inside commercial vehicles, warning that the measure could violate Nigerians’ constitutional rights. The reaction follows the passage of the Federal Road Safety Corps (Amendment) Bill, 2026, by the Senate. The bill proposes a ₦50,000 fine for anyone convicted of hawking, trading or preaching inside commercial vehicles. It also prescribes a ₦50,000 fine, six months’ imprisonment, or both for motorists who refuse to cooperate with FRSC officials during roadside breath tests conducted on reasonable suspicion.
