BANDITS ABDUCT KEBBI HIGH COURT JUDGE FROM HIS RESIDENCE IN KEBBI STATE

Justice Faruku Hassan Bunza of the Kebbi State High Court has been abd¥cted by suspected b@ndits after g¥nmen stormed his residence in Bunza Local Government Area of Kebbi State.

The att@ck reportedly occurred around midnight on Sunday, shortly after the judge returned from a trip to Sokoto. According to sources, the g¥nmen invaded his home along Zogirma Road and took him away.

A source said, “He had just returned from Sokoto when the g¥nmen stormed his residence and took him away.”

The source added that although the att@ckers fired sporadically during the operation, no one else in the house was inj¥red. “Immediately the incident occurred, we reported to the appropriate authorities, including the leadership of the High Court,” the source said.

Confirming the abd¥ction, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Kebbi State Command, SP Bashir Usman, said, “I can confirm that Hon. Justice Faruku Hassan Bunza was abd¥cted from his residence in Bunza around midnight.”

He disclosed that the Commissioner of Police, CP Umar Muhammad Hadejia, immediately deployed tactical and intelligence operatives to ensure the judge’s safe rescue.

The official further disclosed that the management of the High Court had already met with heads of security agencies in the state to strategize on securing the judge’s immediate release.

No group had claimed responsibility for the abd¥ction as of the time of filing the report, while security agencies continue efforts to rescue the judge.
