LEKEH DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION PAYS FAMILIARIZATION VISIT TO THE SECRETARY OF COUNCIL, KHANA LGA.

The Director of Lekeh Development Foundation, Comr. Friday B. Nbani, alongside the National Coordinator, GEF-SGP UNDP Nigeria, Dr. Ibironke Olubamise, today paid a familiarization visit to the Secretary of Council, Khana Local Government Area, Pst. Claudius Yeekpa Israel, at the Khana Council Secretary’s Lodge.

The visit was aimed at fostering stronger relationships and exploring opportunities for partnership and collaboration with Khana Local Government Area in areas of mutual interest, sustainable development, and community empowerment.

The Lekeh Development Foundation has already demonstrated its commitment to community development in Khana, including the distribution of over 200 household solar panels to residents of Bua Kaani community and other communities, helping to improve access to clean and reliable household energy.

The Secretary of Council warmly received the delegation and expressed his appreciation for the visit and the foundation’s interventions. He emphasized the importance of partnerships and initiatives that contribute meaningfully to the development and well-being of the people of Khana.

The engagement reflects a shared commitment to building sustainable partnerships and supporting impactful developmental initiatives across Khana LGA.

The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the de@th of 23-year-old Faith Ajoke Alayande, a student of the Nigerian Law School, Lagos Campus, Victoria Island. Alayande was reportedly found de@d within the hostel premises on Friday, August 7, 2026, after she allegedly jumped from the rooftop of a four-storey hostel building. According to the police, a s¥ic+de note was reportedly discovered by her hostel mate and a relative, who began searching for her before she was allegedly found after the incident. The matter was reported to the Victoria Island Police Division by the hostel’s Chief Matron at about 6:30 a.m. Police officers subsequently visited the scene and evacuated Alayande’s body to a morgue for preservation.
