HOW TO QUALIFY FOR THE 50,000 NAIRA EMERGENCY RELIEF FUND.

The Federal Government of Nigeria has reportedly commenced the disbursement of ₦50,000 cash relief to vulnerable Nigerians under its National Emergency Relief and Stabilisation Intervention (NERSI).

The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Dr Bernard Doro, announced the commencement of the intervention in a statement dated October 30, describing it as a presidential initiative aimed at providing immediate financial assistance to vulnerable households across the country.

According to the minister, the programme is designed to cushion the impact of rising food prices and the increasing cost of essential commodities on low-income households.

The initiative reportedly targets beneficiaries identified through verified government records, including the National Social Register, in collaboration with data from the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC).

Several financial institutions and payment service providers have reportedly been selected as payment partners to facilitate the disbursement.

USSD CODES FOR ELIGIBILITY CHECK

Beneficiaries are advised to use the following codes to check their eligibility:

- ALAT by Wema Bank — 94523#
- MTN MoMo PSB — 6710#
- NairaGram — 72600#
- OPay — 95520#
- Moniepoint — 557327#

According to information circulated about the programme, eligible beneficiaries will be contacted to provide consent before receiving the financial assistance. It is also stated that beneficiaries do not necessarily need to maintain accounts with the selected financial institutions to qualify.

The government has emphasised that eligibility is the primary requirement and that the intervention is not intended for every Nigerian. Beneficiaries are expected to be selected based on established eligibility criteria and verified government records.
