GUINEA-BISSAU MILITARY ESCORTS FORMER NIGERIAN PRESIDENT JONATHAN OUT OF COUNTRY AMID POLITICAL TURMOIL | #RWGBLOG

Amid ongoing political unrest in Guinea-Bissau, former Nigerian President Dr. Goodluck Jonathan has been safely escorted out of the country by military authorities.

Jonathan, who was in Guinea-Bissau as part of a delegation of election observers, became stranded along with other foreign officials following a military takeover that suspended the electoral process and sealed the nation’s borders.

Sources confirm that the military provided a secure escort for the former president, ensuring his safe departure as part of efforts to de-escalate tensions and manage the presence of international observers.

This development comes after the self-styled “High Military Command for the Restoration of Order” seized power, citing concerns over electoral irregularities. While borders have since been reopened, the political future of Guinea-Bissau remains uncertain.
