COURT ASKED TO STOP INEC FROM RECOGNIZING CHINDA AS APC RIVERS GUBER CANDIDATE

Fresh legal drama in Rivers politics as a group of lawyers has asked a Federal High Court in Abuja to stop INEC from recognizing Kingsley Chinda as the APC governorship candidate for Rivers State.

The suit reportedly argues that Chinda’s alleged defection from PDP to APC did not follow constitutional and electoral procedures guiding lawmakers’ party switch.

The plaintiffs are also seeking his disqualification from the 2027 Rivers governorship race and questioning his continued position as Minority Leader in the House of Representatives
