BREAKING NEWS: POLICE RESCUE BAYO ADELABU'S SISTER AND TWINS SONS; TWO SUSPECTS NEUTRALIZED DURING OPERATION
The Nigeria Police Force has successfully rescued Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul, the younger sister of former Minister of Power and All Progressives Congress governorship aspirant in Oyo State, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, along with her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul.
The victims were rescued unharmed at approximately 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 6, 2026, three days after their abduction while en route to school in Ibadan. The rescue followed a coordinated tactical operation that culminated in a gun battle with suspected kidnappers.
During the operation, two suspected kidnappers were neutralized, and two firearms were recovered from the group. The operation was executed based on sustained intelligence gathering and surveillance of the kidnappers’ movements.
The Nigeria Police Force has commenced a manhunt for other members of the kidnapping syndicate who escaped during the encounter. Preliminary reports indicate that some of the fleeing suspects sustained gunshot wounds.
