BREAKING NEWS: POLICE RESCUE BAYO ADELABU'S SISTER AND TWINS SONS; TWO SUSPECTS NEUTRALIZED DURING OPERATION

The Nigeria Police Force has successfully rescued Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul, the younger sister of former Minister of Power and All Progressives Congress governorship aspirant in Oyo State, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, along with her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul.

The victims were rescued unharmed at approximately 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 6, 2026, three days after their abduction while en route to school in Ibadan. The rescue followed a coordinated tactical operation that culminated in a gun battle with suspected kidnappers.

During the operation, two suspected kidnappers were neutralized, and two firearms were recovered from the group. The operation was executed based on sustained intelligence gathering and surveillance of the kidnappers’ movements.

The Nigeria Police Force has commenced a manhunt for other members of the kidnapping syndicate who escaped during the encounter. Preliminary reports indicate that some of the fleeing suspects sustained gunshot wounds.

The Force remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of all citizens and will continue to pursue those involved in criminal activities.

Businesses using Meta’s WhatsApp Business Platform will begin paying for certain customer messages from October 1, 2026, following a new pricing structure announced by the company. Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested a 101-year-old great-grandmother for dealing in illicit drugs and also intercepted cocaine concealed in edible cassava flour popularly known as fufu. In a rare and startling development, NDLEA operatives on Saturday, August, arrested a 101-year-old woman, Esther Ogunmabo, in Ilisan, Ogun state, with retail sachets of skunk, a strain of cannabis weighing 90 grams, which she claims she sells to locals. The centenarian told operatives that she resorted to the illicit drug trade after her provisions shop was razed by fire, adding that one of her daughters, who resides in Lagos, arranges the supply of the substance to her every four days, which she in turn sold in bits. A 31-year-old mother, Kenya Glasgow, and her two-year-old daughter, Kennedi, have been k+lled by lightning during a thunderstorm in Margate, south-east Florida. The Ogoni Dialogue Committee, ODC, has denied claims that it influenced the allocation of 40 job slots at the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL, or played any role in the award of government contracts. Speaking at a press conference in Port Harcourt, ODC Chairman, Professor Don Baridam, said the 40 employment opportunities were proposed as part of confidence-building measures in the Ogoni dialogue with the Federal Government.
