The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, has announced an incentive for individuals who provide credible and actionable information that could help the agency recover st%len assets.

Speaking on the importance of whistleblowing, Olukoyede assured potential informants of protection and encouraged those with knowledge of where stolen assets or wanted individuals linked to financial crimes are hiding to come forward.

He disclosed that whistleblowers could receive between 2.5% and 5% of the recovered assets upon confirmation of the information provided, describing the incentive as a measure introduced to encourage more people to assist the commission in tracing and recovering stolen assets.

Olukoyede urged Nigerians who possess useful information to speak up.

ASU EKIYE CLARIFIES CIRCUMSTANCES SURROUNDING DIVORCE

Gospel music minister Asu Ekiye has offered clarification on the circumstances surrounding the dissolution of his 28-year marriage, following numerous calls and messages seeking to understand what led to the separation. In a statement, Ekiye explained that the decision to end the marriage was not initiated by him, but by his wife, who, according to him, expressed her desire to end the relationship, moved out of their home and subsequently commenced divorce proceedings. President Bola Tinubu has ordered the arrest of one George Buchi Nwabueze and suspended three permanent secretaries after the anti graft agency ICPC uncovered another fake agency operating within the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation. ICPC Chairman Musa Aliyu, made this known after briefing the President for the second consecutive day this week.   He says the agency , National Brands Development and Made-in-Nigeria Special Project Office was uncovered while investigating the fake Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council. The Ogoni Dialogue Committee, ODC, has denied claims that it influenced the allocation of 40 job slots at the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL, or played any role in the award of government contracts. Speaking at a press conference in Port Harcourt, ODC Chairman, Professor Don Baridam, said the 40 employment opportunities were proposed as part of confidence-building measures in the Ogoni dialogue with the Federal Government. He, however, stressed that the committee neither selected nor recruited the beneficiaries, saying NNPCL relied on its existing recruitment database to identify qualified Ogoni applicants. Professor Baridam acknowledged that some ODC members submitted names for consideration but said the nominations did not determine the final selection. A 31-year-old mother, Kenya Glasgow, and her two-year-old daughter, Kennedi, have been k+lled by lightning during a thunderstorm in Margate, south-east Florida. Kenya was reportedly walking along Northwest 1st Street with her two-year-old twins on Sunday when lightning struck shortly before 2:30 p.m. A resident who found the mother and daughter lying on the sidewalk immediately called 911. Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested a 101-year-old great-grandmother for dealing in illicit drugs and also intercepted cocaine concealed in edible cassava flour popularly known as fufu. In a rare and startling development, NDLEA operatives on Saturday, August, arrested a 101-year-old woman, Esther Ogunmabo, in Ilisan, Ogun state, with retail sachets of skunk, a strain of cannabis weighing 90 grams, which she claims she sells to locals. The centenarian told operatives that she resorted to the illicit drug trade after her provisions shop was razed by fire, adding that one of her daughters, who resides in Lagos, arranges the supply of the substance to her every four days, which she in turn sold in bits.
