FMR. PRESIDENT BUHARI LEFT NIGERIA FLOURISHING, TINUBU IS CONTINUING ON THE SAME PATH -- EX-AVIATION MINISTER HADI SIRIKA

Former Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, has defended the administrations of former President Muhammadu Buhari and President Bola Tinubu, insisting that Buhari left Nigeria in a good economic and social state while Tinubu is implementing policies in line with the All Progressives Congress (APC) agenda.

Speaking during an interview on Arise TV, Sirika dismissed claims that Buhari’s administration was responsible for the country’s current economic hardship, saying he did not want to be drawn into such debates.

“The truth of the matter is that President Buhari had done extremely very well on the economy. I’m not an economist, but I do know so because I’ve been in the country, I’ve been in the government, and I’ve seen that the country at the time was in good state, both the economy and the social issues within the country.”

Asked whether Buhari handed over a stable nation with enough resources for his successor, Sirika maintained that the former president left behind a flourishing country. “I do believe so. I do believe that he left a country that is flourishing.”

On President Tinubu’s reforms, the former minister declined to criticise the current administration, arguing that both Buhari’s and Tinubu’s decisions reflect the policies of the APC.

“These policies by President Muhammadu Buhari, I believe, are policies of our party. And the policies that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is pursuing are policies of our party.”

Sirika added that he does not believe the Tinubu administration is intentionally implementing policies that would harm Nigerians.

“I don’t think they’re doing things just off the top of their head to inflict inj¥ry on the country. I think they’ve been advised of the exigencies of their time and have taken decisions they believe are good for the country.”
