PETER OBI CAN'T EVEN FACE ME, LET ALONE TINUBU. HE ONLY DISPLAYS AI POLITICS - MIN. OF WORKS DAVID UMAHI

As political conversations ahead of the 2027 presidential election continue to gather momentum, the Minister of Works, David Umahi, has dismissed claims that Labour Party’s Peter Obi poses any political thr+at to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Speaking on Arise Television’s Daybreak Show on Tuesday, July 7, Umahi insisted that neither President Tinubu nor the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has any reason to fear Obi’s growing political influence.

“Even I cannot be scared of Peter Obi, not to talk about President Bola Ahmed Tinubu or our party, the APC. What displays around Peter Obi is AI politics. It is putting something on nothing. Nobody is scared of Peter Obi. He is not a threat to our president because Peter Obi himself knows very well that he cannot even face me, let alone face the president,” the minister said.

Umahi also criticised Obi’s eight-year tenure as governor of Anambra State, arguing that the former governor lacks the moral authority to call on President Tinubu to resign.

“I read where it was said that Peter Obi said Tinubu should resign because of this, and I asked myself; How many times did Peter Obi resign as governor of Anambra State for failure to fix the roads, failure to establish industry, failure to empower people, failure to establish an airport, or failure to establish a seaport? Failure to pay contractors,” he said.

The minister further accused members of the Obidient movement of intolerance towards opposing views, alleging that critics of Obi are often subjected to ins¥lts, thr+ats and legal action.

“Look at the pattern of politics around Peter Obi. You disagree with him, then he takes you to court. How many times have you been ab¥sing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu? How many people has he taken to court? Look at the Obidient movement. You disagree, they ins¥lt people, they wish people de@d, they issue thre@ts and all kinds of things. Is that the kind of behaviour we want?” Umahi claimed.

ASU EKIYE CLARIFIES CIRCUMSTANCES SURROUNDING DIVORCE

Gospel music minister Asu Ekiye has offered clarification on the circumstances surrounding the dissolution of his 28-year marriage, following numerous calls and messages seeking to understand what led to the separation. In a statement, Ekiye explained that the decision to end the marriage was not initiated by him, but by his wife, who, according to him, expressed her desire to end the relationship, moved out of their home and subsequently commenced divorce proceedings. President Bola Tinubu has ordered the arrest of one George Buchi Nwabueze and suspended three permanent secretaries after the anti graft agency ICPC uncovered another fake agency operating within the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation. ICPC Chairman Musa Aliyu, made this known after briefing the President for the second consecutive day this week.   He says the agency , National Brands Development and Made-in-Nigeria Special Project Office was uncovered while investigating the fake Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council. The Aleto community in Eleme Local Government Area of Rivers State has renewed its call for transparency, accountability and justice over funds allegedly allocated to landowners and host communities connected to Indorama Eleme Petrochemicals, Fertiliser and Super-Packaging companies. Aleto is one of the six host communities to Indorama Eleme. The community says it donated about 159 hectares of land out of approximately 369 hectares used for the development of the company, with the land forming part of the equity arrangement involving the host communities.
