PRESIDENT TINUBU APPOINTS FORMER EKITI GOVERNOR AYO FAYOSE AS CHAIRMAN OF RURAL ELECTRIFICATION AGENCY


President Bola Tinubu has appointed former Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, as Chairman of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) Board.

The President also approved 25 other appointments across 10 federal government agencies and commissions.

The appointments were announced in a statement issued by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, who said all the appointments take immediate effect.

According to the statement, “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced 26 new appointments to 10 federal government agencies and commissions, with the former governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose, emerging as chairman of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), and Major General Junaid Bindawa as chairman of the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission.”

It added that Fayose will lead the REA board, alongside Alhaji Ahmadu Abubakar and Engineer Ilyasu Ibrahim Makinta as members and non-executive directors, while the agency’s Director-General, Abba Abubakar Aliyu, and three executive directors remain on the board.

The statement also said “Tosin Johnson Adeyanju, who was previously appointed Executive Secretary of the National Lottery Trust Fund (NLTF), has now been moved to the Revenue Mobilization, Allocation and Fiscal Commission as secretary.”

Other appointments include Dr Abuh Mohammed as Director-General of the National Population Commission, Dr Akinola Odeyemi as Managing Director of the Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading (NBET), Dr Anthony Inalegwu Godwin as Chairman/CEO of the Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission, and Engineer Julius Oloro as CEO of the National Centre for Agricultural Mechanisation (NCAM).

President Tinubu also constituted the board of the Fiscal Responsibility Commission and appointed new officials to the National Commission for Mass Literacy, Adult and Non-Formal Education, as well as the Federal Housing Authority.
