THERE'S NOWHERE LIKE HOME - TINUBU URGES NIGERIANS MEDICAL PRACTITIONERS ABROAD TO RETURN HOME

President Bola Tinubu has appealed to Nigerian medical professionals in the diaspora to return home and help strengthen the country’s healthcare system, saying, “There’s nowhere like home.”

The President made the appeal on Friday while receiving members of the Nigerian Diaspora Medical Associations, led by the Director-General of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, at the State House in Abuja.

Drawing from his experience of studying and working in the United States before returning to Nigeria, Tinubu said, “I’ve been through that journey. I’m home,” adding that returning to Nigeria had given him the opportunity to contribute to the country’s development.

He urged the visiting doctors to encourage their colleagues abroad to come back, saying, “My friends who are still there, try to attract them home.” He added that his administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda is focused on creating a better environment through improved healthcare, education, development and prosperity.

Tinubu also reaffirmed his commitment to improving the lives of Nigerians, declaring, “Poverty is not acceptable. We won’t accept it. We will fight it. We will bring prosperity. We will bring care to our people.”

He described the contributions of Nigerian doctors in the diaspora as invaluable, saying, “Your coming to help is immeasurable,” and noted that their expertise would help build a stronger healthcare system for future generations.
