24-YEAR-OLD NIGERIAN MIGRANT WHO DODGED DEPORTATION ON HUMAN RIGHTS GROUNDS, JAILED 25 YEARS FOR RAPING 19-YEAR-OLD WOMAN IN THE U.K
A Nigerian migrant who avoided deportation after arguing that removal would breach his human rights has been sentenced to 25 years for v+olently r@ping a 19-year old woman in Wrexham, UK.
Gift Oladele, 24, approached the teenager outside a takeaway and offered to walk home with her, appearing normal and friendly. However, after following her towards an isolated area, he grabbed her, covered her mouth and dra%%ed her into the woods, where he r@ped her.
Recalling the ordeal, the woman said “He was a lot bigger than I was,I tried pushing him away, but he overpowered me. My brain just switched into survival mode. It was either I do what he says, and I get home to my mum, or he is going to k+ll me.”
She said Oladele repeatedly threatened her and told her, “I am going to put a black baby in you.” After the att@ck, he told her,“I think you’ve had enough now. At least you have been r@ped by someone good looking.”
The victim, who later required HIV prevention medication, said the trauma left her feeling s+icidial and too scared to walk alone. “There were numerous times a day when I would be hysterically crying because I didn’t want to be here anymore,” she said.
Oladele denied r@pe and s+xual a§§ault, claiming the encounter was consensual, but a jury found him guilty in March. He was sentenced on April 30 to 25 years, including 17 years in prison and eight years on extended licence. He was also handed an indefinite S+xual H@rm Prevention Order and a lifetime restraining order protecting the victim.
Oladele had previously been jailed in 2022 for a s+xually motivated att@ck. After that conviction, he successfully challenged his deportation to Nigeria, arguing it would breach his Article 8 right to private and family life. An immigration tribunal ruled deportation would be disproportionate, while two Home Office appeals were later rejected.
