42-YEAR-OLD HOSPITAL WORKER FAINTS IN COURT AFTER HEARING HE COULD GET UP TO 100 YEARS IN PRISON FOR CHILD S#X CRIMES

Joshua James Lozano, a 42-year-old hospital worker, reportedly fainted in a Phoenix courtroom on Monday after learning that he could spend up to 100 years in prison if convicted of alleged child s+x crimes. 

Lozano was brought to court following a Glendale Police investigation into alleged child expl%itation, Fox 10 reported. 

Court documents revealed that investigators were alerted by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children after explicit content was allegedly accessed through an internet service connected to Lozano. Authorities subsequently traced an account, phone number and IP address to him before arresting him last Thursday. 

During Monday’s hearing, Maricopa County prosecutor Ashley Stetson requested $150,000 bail and told the court that Lozano could potentially face 10 consecutive felony counts of s+xual expl%itation of a minor. 

Each count carries a possible 10-year prison sentence, with the terms to run consecutively, meaning Lozano could receive a total sentence of up to 100 years. 

Lozano collapsed after hearing the potential sentence, prompting the court to pause proceedings while medical personnel attended to him. He was later returned to police custody. 

His attorney, Michael Tamou, asked the judge to consider Lozano’s local ties and reduce the bail to $50,000. The judge, however, ultimately set bail at $150,000. 

If released, Lozano will be barred from contacting minors, possessing a smartphone or accessing the internet. He will also be required to wear an electronic monitoring device. Lozano is expected back in court on September 21.
