Justice Mohammed Umar of the Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday threatened to commit the lead defence lawyer to politician and online publisher, Omoyele Sowore, Marshall Abubakar, for contempt over rudeness in court. For raising his voice in court, the judge ordered Sowore’s lawyer to “come out and kneel down” in open court. Other lawyers, however, quickly prevailed upon the judge to forgive their errant colleague. Actor Abiodun Ayoyinka has revealed the struggles he has faced since gaining fame as the iconic Papa Ajasco.  Speaking in an interview with media personality Lucky Udu, he said, “The major problem why people are not seeing me where they are supposed to see me is cause that particular character (Papa Ajasco) has been registered by Wale Adenuga and anybody that wants to use me outside with the character has never been easy on me.”  He added, “I don’t have the right to use the name Papa Ajasco unless I go and take permission. The Rivers State Police Command has announced plans to begin a statewide clampdown on vehicles operating without valid registration number plates or those with covered or obscured plates starting Monday, March 16, 2026. Human rights activist Omoyele Sowore has criticized some church leaders, claiming many turned to ministry because they were unable to secure employment. Sowore also recounted an encounter with Paul Enenche of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, saying he advised the pastor to convert his church into a hospital to help save more lives. According to him, both the pastor and his wife are medical doctors but are instead focused on collecting offerings from church members. The leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has cautioned that US President Donald Trump could move against some African presidents, including Nigeria’s leadership. The Court of Appeal in Abuja has affirmed a lower court's judgment restraining the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from recognizing the outcomes of the Peoples Democratic Party's (PDP) national convention held November 15 and 16 in Ibadan, Oyo State. The appellate court, in a unanimous decision, dismissed the PDP's appeal against the October 31 ruling by Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court. The three-justice panel resolved all four issues raised by the PDP against the party, deeming the appeal meritless and frivolous. As a result, the court awarded N2 million in costs against the PDP.
