BREAKING NEWS: CHIBUIKE AMAECHI DECLARES ADC PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARIES FRAUDULENT, REJECTS RESULTS

Former Minister of Transportation and chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, has rejected the outcome of the party’s presidential primaries, describing the results as “concocted” and lacking credibility.

In a strongly worded statement issued after the primaries, Amaechi alleged that widespread voter disenfranchisement occurred across several parts of the country, insisting that the exercise failed to meet the standards of a free, fair, and transparent election.

According to him, he had earlier made it clear that he would only accept the outcome of the primaries if the process reflected democratic principles and transparency. He, however, maintained that the conduct of the election fell short of the ideals the ADC claims to represent.

Amaechi further alleged that nearly 80 percent of party members were denied the opportunity to vote, questioning the legitimacy of the results announced by the party leadership.

The former Rivers State governor also accused the ADC of engaging in the same electoral malpractices it has consistently condemned against the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), including vote buying, result manipulation, and voter suppression.

He stressed that the ADC was created to provide Nigerians with a credible alternative platform capable of promoting fairness, inclusion, and good governance, adding that the reported irregularities undermine the party’s mission to rescue the country from what he described as impunity and mismanagement.

Amaechi concluded by declaring that he would not recognize or accept the outcome of the presidential primaries conducted under such circumstances.
