"I HAVE THE SOLUTION TO THE UEGWERE AND BUA-YEGHE COMMUNITY CRISIS IN OGONILAND" - FORMER YOUTH PRESIDENT, NAADE NAADE BURALE GOODLUCK
A former Chief Security Officer of Khana Local Government Area and former Youth President of Bua-Yeghe Community, Comrade Naade Naade Burale Goodluck, has commended ongoing efforts aimed at resolving the lingering crisis between the Uegwere and Bua-Yeghe communities.
Speaking in a voice note obtained by our correspondent, Naade recounted his role in intervening during the initial conflict between the two neighboring communities. He explained that swift action was taken at the time by Hon. Dumnamene Deekor, who constituted a peace and boundary resolution panel headed by His Royal Majesty, King Barilee Deebom, alongside the then Chairmen of Gokana and Khana Local Government Areas.
According to Naade, ancestral boundaries between Uegwere and Bua-Yeghe communities had existed for generations but were allegedly destroyed by individuals from Uegwere Community. He further noted that despite the findings and recommendations of the panel, the exact ancestral boundaries between the two communities were not formally re-established.
He also criticized the boundary adjustment approach adopted by the administration of Khana Local Government Chairman, Thomas Bariere, arguing that such an approach is inconsistent with the traditional process of resolving ancestral boundary disputes.
Comrade Naade Naade Burale Goodluck therefore urged the political and traditional leadership of both Gokana and Khana Local Government Areas to revisit the findings and recommendations of the King Barilee Deebom-led panel. He expressed confidence that a thorough review of the report would provide a lasting solution to the crisis and promote peaceful coexistence between the two communities.
