"I HAVE TRAVELLED TO SEVERAL COUNTRIES, AND I CAN BOLDLY TELL YOU THAT THE NIGERIAN ARMY, THE POLICE, AND THE DSS ARE AMONG THE BEST IN THE WORLD" - APOSTLE JOHNSON SULEMAN

Apostle Johnson Suleman has praised Nigeria’s military, police, and Department of State Services (DSS), describing them as among the best security agencies he has encountered globally.

Speaking on the country’s security challenges, the cleric commended soldiers and other security operatives for their sacrifices in the f+ght against terr%rism and insurgency. He argued that many officers are often demoralised when suspected terr%rists are arrested but later freed due to interference from powerful individuals.

“I’ve been around the world,” Suleman said, adding that he travels abroad frequently and can confidently say Nigeria’s uniformed services rank among the best.

He also defended the DSS, saying the agency carries out intelligence operations and arrests daily without publicising every achievement. According to him, security institutions should be supported rather than constantly ridiculed by citizens.

Offering recommendations on how to address insecurity, Suleman called for a ban on open grazing and urged herders to embrace ranching. He further urged authorities to identify and prosecute those financing and sponsoring terrorist activities.

The preacher claimed that many of the insurgents currently being confronted by security forces are the children of those who entered the country years ago, noting that while the military had neutralised many earlier fighters, a new generation had emerged.

“Go after the sponsors. Who empowered them? Go after the sponsors,” he said repeatedly.

Suleman also urged political leaders to set aside political meetings and focus fully on tackling insecurity, insisting that national security should take precedence over politics.

He concluded by stating that leaders who believe the security situation is beyond their control should step aside and allow others to take over.

“If you are saying you met insecurity you’re indirectly saying can’t fix it, resign. Let somebody else do it,” he said.
