"STOP INSULTING PRESIDENT TINUBU INSECURITY DID NOT START UNDER HIS ADMINISTRATION" - MINISTER OF WORKS, DAVID UMAHI
The Minister of Works, David Umahi, has defended President Bola Tinubu amid criticisms over insecurity in the country, insisting that the challenge did not begin under the present administration and should not be politicized.
Speaking on the issue, Umahi faulted political att@cks on the president, saying discussions on insecurity should be handled with caution and national responsibility. He said, “ what is the national now is the issue of security and insecurity with that call themselves extreme politicians, you ins¥lt the president, and they talk about insecurity as if the insecurity just started within the administration of the president… It’s very unfortunate because security is the job of everyone. the security issue should not be politicized .”
He questioned the pattern of rising insecurity during election periods, asking, “why is it that any time we’re trying to have election, there is heightened insecurity? This is very unfair because anybody that takes the life of others under any guise,God is watching and of course God will pay back. And so if anybody has hands in insecurity because the person wants power, God will resist such a person”.
Umahi called for continued support for the president, saying, “we stand with the president, we pray for him, we walk with him,” stressing that governance and security reforms require unity, patience, and collective effort.
He further expressed concern for victims of insecurity, including abducted students, urging prayers for their safe return. He encouraged Nigerians to remain united, emphasizing faith, discipline, and cooperation as key tools to overcoming the country’s security challenges.
The minister concluded with a message of optimism, insisting that Nigeria will overcome its current difficulties through collective resolve and divine support.
