COURT GRANTS BLESSING CEO N20 MILLION BAIL IN ALLEGED N69.15 MILLION FR@UD CASE

The Lagos State Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja on Thursday granted social media personality, Blessing Okoro, popularly known as Blessing CEO, bail in the sum of ₦20 million in her ongoing trial over an alleged ₦69.15 million fra¥d.

Justice Rahman Oshodi approved the bail application after considering the arguments presented by the defence, while noting that the court had a duty to independently assess the nature of the allegations and the punishment prescribed by law before reaching its decision.

Blessing CEO was arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on June 9, 2026, on a two-count charge bordering on stealing and obtaining money by false pretences.

According to the EFCC, the defendant allegedly fraud¥lently obtained ₦69,150,000 from Hope Chiropractic Health Clinic Limited in March 2025 by claiming she would secure the lease of a property located in the Lekki area of Lagos.

She pleaded not guilty to the charges.

During the hearing of her bail application, the court requested clarification regarding the whereabouts of her international passport. In response, her defence counsel informed the court that the passport had been lost and submitted an affidavit of loss alongside public notices published to that effect.

In his ruling, Justice Oshodi admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of ₦20 million with two responsible sureties in like sum.

The court ordered that each surety must provide a three-year bank statement or evidence of a fixed deposit worth not less than ₦20 million.

The judge also directed that Blessing CEO and her sureties be profiled through the Lagos State Judiciary’s Bail Information Management System.

Justice Oshodi further ordered that the Nigerian Immigration Service be notified of the defendant’s travel restrictions pending the conclusion of the case.

The matter was subsequently adjourned until October 12, 2026, for the continuation of trial.
