IGBO BUSINESSMAN GIFTS APPRENTICE 12-ROOM BUILDING AFTER THREE YEARS OF SERVICE
In a remarkable display of generosity that has captivated social media users, an Igbo businessman, popularly known as Omoteletex Na Umuchu Kingdom, has gifted his apprentice, popularly called Nwa-Boy, a fully completed 12-room building in Onitsha as part of his settlement package after successfully completing three years of apprenticeship.
According to the businessman, the young apprentice distinguished himself through unwavering dedication, loyalty, honesty, and exemplary character throughout his service.
In a heartwarming revelation, Omoteletex disclosed that he secretly acquired the land in the apprentice’s name and oversaw the construction of the entire building without the young man having any knowledge of the project.
Since the apprentice is currently outside Nigeria following the completion of his apprenticeship, the businessman invited a priest to bless and dedicate the property before officially presenting the keys and original land documents to the apprentice’s visibly emotional mother during the handover ceremony.
Speaking at the event, Omoteletex encouraged his other apprentices to remain faithful, hardworking, and trustworthy, stressing that integrity and commitment are always rewarded.
“Be honest, stay committed, and your time will come. Loyalty never goes unrewarded,” he told the gathering.
The extraordinary gesture has sparked widespread admiration online, with many Nigerians describing it as a shining example of the celebrated Igbo apprenticeship system (Igba Boi), which has empowered countless young entrepreneurs over the years through mentorship, trust, and structured business succession.
The story has also reignited conversations about the importance of investing in people, rewarding loyalty, and preserving the entrepreneurial values that have long distinguished the Igbo business community.
What are your thoughts on this remarkable settlement package? Is this the kind of mentorship model that should be encouraged across Nigeria?
